<p><strong>      1-</strong> Feel the power of calcium. <strong>Calcium</strong> is one of the most important mineral during pregnancy.<strong> </strong>Milk, yogurt, cheese, nuts, green vegetables, pectin are full of calcium which is stored approximately 30gr. on baby. Pregnant woman should take 1300mg  calcium per day.</p>
<p><strong>     2</strong>&#8211; Do not omit <strong>zinc</strong>. Zinc is important for growing of baby. In the summer mother candidates need 15 mg. zinc per a day. Meat, sea food, milk, milk products and egg are rich from zinc.</p>
<p><strong>     3-Iodine</strong> is necessary for pregnant women and seafoods and salt enriched with  iodine are important sources. Lack of iodine causes goitre and mental disabilities in babies.</p>
<p><strong>     4- Omega3</strong> is very important for development of nervous system and development of brain. Fish and sea foods, milk which is enrinched by Omega3, nuts, walnut and green vegetables are necessary for pregnant woman&#8217; s menu.</p>
<p><strong>     5-</strong> Increase drinking of <strong>water.</strong> Drink water approximately 1,5-2 liters per a day. Instead of drinking coffee, tea alcohol drink water in order to have healthy contribution to your nutrition.</p>
<p>For your daily menu:</p>
<p>&#8211; Consume milk, yogurt,cheese</p>
<p>&#8211; Eat an egg every day. Eat a porsion of vegetable with meat</p>
<p>-Eat fresh vegetables and fruits regularly.</p>
<p>&#8211; If you do not want to eat meat, you can eat pectin, green lentils, dried vegetables, nuts, wallnut.</p>
<p>&#8211; Do not drink tea with meals, Drink tea 1-2 hours later after meals in order not to cause declining of iron in your blood.</p>
<p>&#8211; Do not smoke or do not drink alcohol.</p>
<p>Exercises are important during pregnancy. Plates, swimming,walking could be performed during pregnancy.Perform your execises 15-20 minutes per a day. If you do not have problem you can continue doing your exercise upto 36th week of your pregnancy. If you feel any pain consult your doctor. Do not exercise if it is too hot. During exercising intake oxygen increases so baby will receive more oxygen which is very important for the development of baby. Exercising is useful for charley horse and knobs and constipation. <p>Healthy nutrition is important for mental development between  0-3 ages. According to investigations the children who consume sugar and  salt very much face with problem of low IQ level. Their IQ level are 8 points less than the children who did not consume much sugar and salt.</p>
<p>0-1 ages babies&#8217; nutrition is divided into 2. 0-6 months and 6-12 months. Babies should be fed by breast feeding in first 6 months. First year babies should not be fed by cow&#8217;s milk. If breast feeding is not sufficient baby should be fed by mother which involve prebiotics to develop and protect the immune system.</p>

<p>Here are important advices for mothers: &#8211; From 1 years old your baby should consume four basic nutrition group. ( meat, egg,leguminous seeds group, milk and milk products group, vegetable-fruit group, bread and cereal group)</p>
<p>&#8211; The most important protein group after breast milk if egg. Give an egg every day to your child.</p>
<p>&#8211; Your child should drink 1-2 glass of milk every day. Vitamin D is needed to place calcium to bones. You can synthesis Vitamin D only with sun. So sun is important for your children.</p>
<p>&#8211; In first one age iron in the milk is not enough for blood formation.So, child should eat meat, greeny and pectin which are rich from iron. In order to increase the benefit of iron in the body foods rich from Vitamin C.</p>

<p>&#8211; Make him/her to eat fresh vegetables and fruits.</p>
<p>-Do not give foods like hamburger, chips which does not have nutrition value to your child.</p>

<h2><em><strong><span style="color: #ff0000;">Is poor nutrition putting your kid&#8217;s future at risk?</span></strong></em></h2>
<p><em><strong>One in seven local kids underweight &#8211;  and this may affect brain development </strong></em></p>
<p><em>HIGH as Singapore’s <strong>healthcare</strong> standards are, some 14 per cent of Singaporean children under the age of five are underweight- and therefore at risk of poor brain development.</em></p>
<p><em>    Such figures, according to the United Nation’s 2005 <b>Human Development Report, </b>put Singapore on par with nations such as the United Arab Emirates and Ecuador<a href="http://www.womenplatform.com">.</a></em></p>
<p><em> Independently commissioned by the <strong>UN Development Programme</strong>, the report collectively measures poverty, literacy, education, life expectancy and other factors.</em></p>
<p><em>Ranked top three on the list are Norway, Iceland and Australia, in that order.</em></p>
<p><em>How is it possible that one in seven <strong>children</strong> here are underweight, when health campaigns seem to reflect growing issues of obesity and its associated health problems?</em></p>
<p><em><a href="http://www.womenplatform.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/08/pediatrician.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-781" alt="pediatrician" src="http://www.womenplatform.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/08/pediatrician.jpg" width="253" height="178" /></a></em></p>
<p><em>“There have not been recent studies done on why some children in Singapore under the age of five are underweight. But  possible explanations include not eating enough <strong>nutritious</strong> food, poor eating habits, illness, stress and poor intestinal quality,” said Dr. <b>Low Kah Tzay. </b>A neonatologist and development paediatrician with the Singapore Baby and Child clinic at <b>Mount Elizabeth Medical Centre</b>.</em></p>
<p><em>The brain’s growth rate is fastest from the middle of pregnancy until the child’s second or third birthday. That means babies and toddlers need lots of sustenance to support their high metabolic rate. Said<strong> Dr Low</strong>: “A one-year-old needs about 1.000 calories a day to sustain that high growth rate.”</em></p>
<p><em>If they don’t get the <strong>nutrition</strong> their bodies need, brain cells do not develop properly and a permanent shortage may result- which can also result in lowered IQ.</em></p>
<p><em>But it isn’t just a case of having enough to eat. <strong>Dr Low</strong> stressed the importance of a balanced diet: “It isn’t just weight gain but also the kinds of food that assist in growth and development.”</em></p>
<p><em><a href="http://www.womenplatform.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/08/pediatrician1.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-782" alt="pediatrician1" src="http://www.womenplatform.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/08/pediatrician1.jpg" width="238" height="162" /></a></em></p>
<p><em>And parents who are squeamish about breast-feeding should also think twice.</em></p>
<p><em>“Lack of breast-feeding could be a cause of poor intestinal <strong>health</strong>. Breast-feeding actually helps development and digestion. Babies should be breast-fed for at least six month,” said <strong>Dr Low</strong>.</em></p>
<p><em>Parent who notice their children are underweight should visit a paediatrician and make sure the child isn’t suffering from poor <strong>nutrition</strong>.</em></p>
